FAQs
What is UV Sani-Packing?
As part of the packing process, we sanitize everything that goes in our box or tube packages with UV light. Product, product cartons, packing materials, even packing slips, etc.
What’s the difference between KN95 and N95 masks?
KN95 and N95 masks are filtering face-piece respirator s(FFRs). The Federal Code of Regulations defines a FFR as a negative pressure particulate respirator with a filter as an integral part of the face-piece or with the entire face-piece composed of the filtering medium. The "95" in N95 and KN95 means the mask has been rated to filter at least 95 percent of airborne particles it encounters. The masks have also been manufactured to form a seal on the wearers face.
The difference between an N95 and a KN95 mask is where the mask is certified. Much like other industries, respirators/masks have different approval sources. The KN95 certification, recognized by the FDA, originates in China.
For 3-Ply Masks, is it blue side out, or blue side in?
Blue side out.
Can you wash an N95 or KN95 mask?
Nope – you can’t get them wet, even with soapy water, or alcohol. No boiling or steaming either - it breaks down the material, and significantly reduce the mask’s filtration efficiency.
Why Clear Face Shields?
According to WebMD, shields have a number of advantages over masks... “they are endlessly reusable, simply requiring cleaning with soap and water or common disinfectants, they’re more comfortable to wear than masks, and they form a barrier that keeps people from easily touching their own faces. When speaking, people sometimes pull down a mask to make things easier -- but that isn't necessary with a face shield” And a clear mask helps people express and communicate better. “In a simulation study, face shields were shown to reduce immediate viral exposure by 96% when worn by a simulated health care worker within 18 inches of a cough”
Are the Clear Shields you carry recyclable?
Yes. For municipalities throughout Europe and North America, PET plastic is the most widely accepted plastic for recycling. Check local recycling regulations to make sure that all rigid plastic is accepted.
What’s the best mask protection overall?
No one mask solution offers absolute protection from COVID-19 or other airborne pathogens. The KN95 Masks we carry provide high-filtration efficiency, greater than or equal to 95%. The filtration efficiency of the 3-ply Masks we carry is greater than or equal to 90%. And the Clear Face Shields we carry provide an added barrier to limit transmission of aerosolized mist, splatter and spray. Be sure to follow the guidelines of public health officials!
What does the CDC recommend for hand sanitizer?
According to the CDC... "Cleaning hands at key times with soap and water or hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol is one of the most important steps you can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to those around you."
How do you remove gloves safely?
To remove your gloves, pull from the wrist and turn them inside out (sort of like how you would secure a doggy bag). The idea is to keep the external-facing side of the glove from contacting your skin.
What does FDA approved mean?
In response to COVID-related respirator shortages, the FDA issued a new Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for non-NIOSH-approved respirators made in China, which makes KN95 respirators eligible for authorization. Additionally, the FDA revised their guidelines to expand the availability of general-use face masks for the general public and respirators (including N95 and KN95) for healthcare professionals during the pandemic.
